The standard tightening torque values specified herein shall apply to the tightening of standard bolts for general fastening uses in which bolts and nuts are used to give the parts to fasten initial fastening loads equivalent to the axial tension of the bolts. However, for special bolts tightened with torques other than those specified herein, tightening instructions shall be separately given on the individual drawings and specifications.

PURPOSE

This standard is established for the standardization of tightening torque for threaded fasteners to improve the efficiency of assembling operation carried out with use of threaded fasteners, reduce costs for tightening tools and maintain appropriate quality of products.
